Belgium, Life in Wonderland

Beautiful scenic, Brugge, Belgium

As we are the citizens of third world country, naturally, if we find something developed, we try to find why they have and we don't have it.

Streets of Brugge, Belgium

First, Belgium is a country where catholic values are being preserved with dignity. Flanders plan development not only for their country but also they help to develop the underdeveloped countries. I am thankful for all the supports they favored us.

At Zeebrugge, shore of North Sea

I found tourist from all around the world, walking through the streets of Brugge and wondering to see the rich heritage the Belgium preserves. They are friendly people, with most nominal crime rate so anybody can roam anywhere without fear, just following some tips.

Visit To Belgium

Belgium is a country, rich in heritage. As I had the opportunity to visit the surrounding countries, its my opinion, Belgium is unique to some extent. From a plane, any body can recognize Belgium, for it street lights, like a necklace. Really it is beautiful. The houses are scattered with very scenic beauty. Villages are more scenic and every visits were enjoyed.

As a catholic country, Belgium kept the moral teachings of Christianity high above, specially in case of sexual matters. People are very friendly and crimes are often committed. Transport sector is well managed and with developed infrastructure, revenue earning through cross border transport achieved well.

Long Live King Albert II and Queen Paola

It was like a dream to me to be in Belgium. I strongly believe that my God was present at the selection process among the scholarship candidates. Belgium government always wanted to help Bangladesh and donated huge amount of money in different projects of this country.

One of their vision was to get genuine candidates to enlighten with knowledge, who might be helpful to the countries development process.

At a conference in Brussels' University,  Brussels, Belgium, where world famous professor Dr. Flemming of California University, delivered his valuable speech

                                          Oh! Its Weekend Party Time

I could easily find the differences of administration in  between our two countries in quest of development. How the Flanders planed to develop their region and achieved high quality of life for its people.

My heartfelt thanks to the Belgium Government and everybody associated with.

My Life in Belgium

I wish to bow down my head with gratitude to God, for granting me a scholarship in Belgium for a training course on Multimodal Transport Management, latest management policy on logistics and transport method at the institute of WES, Brugge, Belgium. Dr. Geert Sanders was my official Training instructor, a man above 6' - 9" height, but a very good pleasant manner, bearing all the heritage of Flanders.

On Nov, 6th 1995 with a K L M flight I left Dhaka, Bangladesh for Brussels, Belgium. It was a very nice unforgettable trip and I enjoyed every single moment while on travel. The plane made an halt at Dubai Airport for re-fueling purpose for a short time and after a long flight, we landed at Schiphol Airport, Holland and from there, with train service, I reached Brussels Airport, where I was warmly greeted by Acorta representatives.

My Grandma: What love defines!

Grandpa late Robert & Grandma late Mina
My grandpa left the world when I was just one year old but as told by grandma, he was happy to see his third generation. I was also fond of him and whenever he came back to home, I used to cry to get his lap. He was the Headman in our society and used to work as social counselor and was greatly respected in the society.
My life started with the care of my grandma. Her eyes always followed me for my whereabouts. I used to pass my childhood with my grandma with her full protection and love. She was my playmate, my church mate, sleep mate, nanny everything she could be defined. There was no fear when she was nearby, nobody could point any finger to me, whatever wrong I did. She was there..... my power house....
.
Grandma's love, is the best love in this world.

Abandoning me in 1979, 6th June, she left us forever, my eyes full of tears....

My Loving Sisters and Brothers

                                             This our family picture

Our Mom, Our World

Our life was centered to our mom.  A loving, caring touch was always felt for the five of us. All her tender thoughts was for us. What we shall eat, cleaning clothes, taking care of homework everything was under her fingertips. She loved her home very much. We found her satisfied living in her home rather visiting relatives for long time. When our father died, in my absence, she used to go shopping herself, which she didn't do for a single time, when our father as alive.
My mother's name is Mary Miranda, born in 17th April, 1935 daughter of renowned personality, Lal John Gomes of Barisal area and Teressa Gomes. She is the eldest among three sisters and four brothers. My maternal Uncles are : Rock Ferdinand Gomes, Fedalis Gomes, Flavian Gomes & Felix Gomes. The two of my aunties are: Carmelina & Helena.
Various needy people used to visit her and she used to offer her support as much as possible, without letting us to know. That was she, a mother, an example for us. So after her death, at her funeral, the crowd mourned for her, reflected her love for them. We were amazed to find what a network of love she spread among the needy ones, whom we neglect.
Whenever we are in distress, we call for her to find ways & strength.

May you Rest In Peace

Influence Of Dad In My Life

We are three brothers and two sisters, all are settled in life. In 1989, 7th July, our father died and we lost our mother on 10th March, 2002

I joined the family business of shipping as a apprentice in 1978 and used to follow the advices from my dad. In in 1982, for the first time, I alone received a bulk vessel on berth at Mongla port as an agent loaded with import cargo and things went perfect. My dad appreciated my work, cause he was sick and unable to move anywhere so I took the responsibility to attend the agency vessel. With my earned experience, in 1985 I applied my own shipping agency license and had to go for written and viva exam and successfully passed all the barricades to obtain the license, where I found that people who are older than me and handled more vessels than me, could not pass the written exam.

Due ill health of my dad, things slowly started to go wrong and business was turning its nose down. Also in 1980, we pioneered ourselves, through exporting human hair waste as non traditional item. Also in 1985, we exported live leech to Dr. R.T. Sawyer of Swansea University, U.K. for research purpose for making anti-blood clotting medicine. He was successful in his research work and world got the only available anti-blood clotting medicine.

Whatever good things I adopted in my life is from my beloved DAD
